Pumpkin is widely grown that is incredibly rich in vital antioxidants and vitamins. Pumpkin is a storehouse of many antioxidant vitamin-A, vitamin-C and vitamin -E. Now let me talk about the Brown peas. This pea subordinates cholesterol level. It is rich in anti- oxidants. It is something very great for diabetic conditions and has many medical benefits. And the other ingredients used are coconut milk, green chili, ginger, turmeric powder and finally salt to taste.
Olan is traditional Kerala recipe. It is a simple dish made with most simple ingredients and yet it is a wholesome dish. Another easy dish that has definite spot in your Onam sadya leaf, I love the color of this dish. The color itself indicates the simplicity of the dish. This recipe belongs to my loving grandmother.
    This recipe is less spicy so everyone including kids will enjoy it. After all it’s a traditional curry in Kerala. It can be even served as the side dish of roti. This curry is often served in the afternoon lunch with rice.

  1. Cook pea in second coconut milk for 2 whistles in a pressure cooker.
  3. Put ginger, green chilly, turmeric powder and salt while cooking.
  5. Put diced pumpkin into the ¾ cooked peas and cook pumpkin for 1 whistle.
  7. Pour the rich coconut milk into the cooked vegetables. Stir well.
  8. Heat a frying pan and pour little oil. Sauté  small onion, red chilly, and curry leaves.
  9. Pour it into the curry after sputtering.
  11. Remove from heat and serve it with meals.
