Chilly Chicken is one of the dishes that I love to order when I go to restaurants. But the food color and the taste agents they use made me avoiding those recipes. So I started making Chilly Chicken at home. I learned this recipe from my father who used to cook special recipes which I loved to learn. It is made in an Indo -Chinese manner that everyone can make it so simply and easily .Chilly chicken is also known as Chinese chilly chicken, is an Indo Chinese dish which is loved by most chicken lovers. It is a popular Indian restaurant style starter/ appetizer. Usually in the restaurant made chilly chicken, ajjinomotto is used to give a unique flavor to it. Food color is also used to bring the deep color. This recipe of chilly chicken doesn’t need ajjinomotto or food color, but still can be made the best.

During my school years, fried rice and chilly chicken was the most happening couple. So whenever we dined out, it used to be a standard menu .I remember my brother even getting angry at us, me and my cousin sister, for ordering the same thing again, instead of trying out something new .But I still miss those deep dark red colored chilly chicken that I used to have from Kerala Hotels.

The pictorial representation helps you to learn easily .This is a simple version that I made. It will be more delicious if you marinate the chicken and keep it for one or two hours in a refrigerator and then frying. It is well suited for fried rice or Parathas or even with any of your dinner dishes. It is a dry dish with a few gravy and it is an excellent appetizer or side dish for parties. Let's see how I prepared the Chilly Chicken. I am sure you all like it.
